Knapp is the Larry & Ellen Foster Communications Librarian for the Penn State University Libraries, serving Penn State's College of Communications, the largest accredited communications program in the country. Prior to his appointment to this position in 2014, he was the Coordinator of Instruction for nine years at Penn State Altoona, teaching both resident and online students. Mr. Knapp has experience with the Engaged Scholarship movement in higher education, serving on the University's Council on Engaged Scholarship, and publishing scholarly papers on the subject with Dr. Nicholas Rowland.

In my capacity as System Administrator, (and in my role as District Consultant with the Reading Public Library) I provide comprehensive orientation for library trustees and library directors annually.

On behalf of PCBL, I have presented programs at the annual Friends/Trustee Institute on the relationships between Library Boards, Library Friends and Library Directors.

Brief Biography: Dr. Lappas is a public speaker, author, lawyer, and prize winning artist headquartered in Harrisburg.

He has a PhD in American Studies from Pennsylvania State University where he researches American law and culture. His teaching areas include American Studies, History, Law and Society, Political Science and Public Policy. He graduated from Allegheny College (BA cum laude ‘74), where he was twice named an Alden Scholar, received Departmental Honors at graduation and the Muhlfinger Prize for his independent research; and from Dickinson School of Law (JD cum laude‘77), where he was on the Editorial Board of the Law Review, a member and faculty adviser of the National Trial Moot Court Team, and winner of two American Jurisprudence Awards. He was later named to the Woolsack Society.

He is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, all Pennsylvania state courts, and several federal courts. He has been lead counsel in 100s of major cases including some of the region's most important trials. He served as an inaugural member of the Pennsylvania Senate Advisory Committee to Study the Causes of Wrongful Convictions and the Pennsylvania Legislative Advisory Committee to Study the Death Penalty.

He was one of the nation's youngest attorneys to be named in the first edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He has been in Who's Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, and The Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers.

He is published in the Dickinson Law Review, The Champion (the journal of the National Association of criminal Defense Lawyers), the Harrisburg Patriot-News, and the Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography. He is a member of American Mensa, a tournament Scrabble champion, and a competitive three weapon fencer.

Brief Biography: Wendy McClure, is the Human Resources Coordinator at Cleve J. Fredricksen Library for over ten years.  Prior, Wendy had worked in other public and academic libraries.  In 2006, Wendy volunteered and was awarded the Anne Richardson Reading Is Fundamental Volunteer of the Year Award for developing and implementing a reading promotional program in the local elementary school. Wendy guides libraries though thinking about volunteers and showing appreciation for all they give.  Currently, Wendy is in the second stage of obtaining her national Certification of Volunteer Administration. As the Human Resources Coordinator, Wendy has knowledge of policies, practices and procedures for staff and volunteers including customer service training.

Brief Biography: Barb Eshbach is the Head Librarian at Penn State York. Prior to becoming the Head Librarian, she was the reference and instruction librarian at the campus. She earned a B.S. in Education from Millersville University and an M.S.L.S. from Clarion University. Barb has spent her library career in higher education, working as an adjunct information literacy instructor before coming to Penn State. Her research focus is on academic library programming and how the academic library can support first-year student success.

Speaking Experience: I've presented on the topic of academic library engagement in the PA Forward initiative at several PaLA Annual Conferences; as well as the First National Personal Librarian and First-Year Experience Conference (Ohio, 2014), the Lilly International Conference on College and University Teaching and Learning (Maryland, 2015), the Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology Symposium (2015), the Penn State Library Faculty Organization Research Colloquium (2015), and the Penn State University Libraries Faculty Retreat (2013). I also was invited to speak on this topic for the ACRL Delaware Valley Chapter Spring Program (2015), the PA Forward Civic & Social Literacy Summit (2016), and PA Forward Financial Literacy Summit (2016).
