From Ignorance to Action: Learning from and Supporting our Muslim and Refugee Neighbors

On March 27, 2017 at Monroeville Public Library, over sixty local residents attended a panel discussion about the life experiences of Muslims and refugees in the Pittsburgh area. The program was cosponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace, the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Health Literacy Programs

An ongoing series of health-related programs at Monroeville Public Library cosponsored by the library and UPMC East and UPMC Centers for Rehab Services, featuring healthcare professionals (physicians, physical therapists, dieticians and others) presenting and leading discussions on a wide range of health topics. The programs are also videorecorded, made available for patron checkout on DVD and televised on Monroeville’s government TV channel 15/45. Programs in the series have included:
