EPLC "Focus on Education" TV Program on PCN
April 13 at 3:00 p.m.
The next EPLC "Focus on Education" show will air this coming Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. on PCN television. This April 13 panel will discuss the issues of how libraries are important to an educated workforce and an educated citizenry, the condition of public and school libraries in Pennsylvania, how libraries are funded, April 'School Library Month' events, and much more.
The panel will include:
- Ron Cowell, President of The Education Policy and Leadership Center and Host of the "Focus on Education" programs;
- Mary Kay Biagini, Ph.D., Director, School Library Certification Program and Associate Professor of Library and Information Science, University of Pittsburgh;
- Eileen Kern, President, Pennsylvania School Librarians Association; and
- Janis Stubbs, President, Pennsylvania Library Association and Assistant Director/District Consultant, Delaware County Library System
In February 2013, EPLC and the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) began its partnership for "Focus on Education", the monthly program focusing on education issues in Pennsylvania. Past
episodes have covered School Safety Issues, Student Testing, The Work of School Boards, How Public Education is Funded in Pennsylvania, the School Dropout Crisis, Parents as Education Advocates, Arts Education, Special Education, Governor Corbett's Proposed Education Budget for 2014-2015, and most recently K-12 and Early Education in Pennsylvania (link coming soon).
