Pennsylvania Library Association
2018 Conference & Expo
October 14 - 17, 2018
The Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) is the oldest professional library organization serving all types of libraries throughout the Commonwealth. The PaLA Conference provides the library community with a variety of continuing education, supplier resources and networking opportunities during this important event. We hope you will join us this year as we return to Harrisburg, the State Capitol, October 14 - 17, 2018 at the Hilton Harrisburg.
Conference Planning Committee
The 2018 Conference Planning Committee is hard at work under the direction of chair, Sara Edmiston, Community Relations Librarian for the Adams County Library System. Stay tuned for the announcement of the conference theme and details regarding speakers, as they unfold. If you would like to volunteer to serve on a committee, please feel free to contact Sara, or the appropriate committee chair on the Committee Roster.
The conference will offer 60+ breakout sessions on topics of interest to Pennsylvania librarians. If you are, or know someone who is, an expert on a topic that would be of interest to this group, the conference programming committee invites you to submit a session proposal.
Please note these Topics of interest, as submitted by members of the Public Library Division and 2017 conference attendees.
Submissions must be completed online and in one sitting. A PDF of the proposal form is available for your use in planning your submission.
Thank you in advance to all that submit proposals, we appreciate your dedication to PaLA and to Pennsylvania’s libraries!
Call for Posters - Coming May 2018
Poster Sessions will take place Monday & Tuesday during the conference and are a great way for librarians to informally share information about successful ideas or programs with their colleagues. The Call for Posters will take place after program proposals have been reviewed and selected.
The Library Products & Services Expo offers one of the best opportunities to reach decision-makers in the Pennsylvania library community. This two-day show offers a concise schedule in an environment that promotes interaction with attendees through no-conflict exhibit time, exhibit hall activities and informal networking opportunities.
