 About the Speakers:

Dawn Daria, Education Director Dawn has a B.S. in psychology and M.Ed. in Secondary Education/Social Studies. She has worked in a variety of formal and informal learning environments teaching everything from World History to Psychology to Red Cross Swimming Lessons. In 2007, she joined Flow Circus to create programs that engage tweens and teens in the development of healthy lifestyles, character education, and 21st century skills using the juggling arts. With the recent release of her first book, Grounded for Good, she now adds writer to her skill set. As both an educator and author, Dawn works to instill a love of learning in the children, teens, and adults she encounters.

Paul Miller, Executive Director After earning a degree in accounting, Paul Miller realized that he could have a much bigger impact on people by sharing his unique brand of humor and playfulness (which didn’t really fit in the corporate world). A self-taught juggler and performance artist, his influences include masters of silent film Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplain and physical stand-up comics such as Steve Martin and Robin Williams. Paul has toured his solo-show, Just Paul, across the US and recent credits include off-Broadway performances and Disney Cruise Lines. In 1999, Paul founded Flow Circus with a mission to promote active learning and play through the juggling arts. Since then he has taught thousands of tweens, teens, and adults to juggle and play with skill toys. Recent projects include the development of free educational resources such as FlowCircusKids.com and PlayFundama.com.

Previous Speaking Experience:

Together, Dawn and Paul have taught thousands of individuals to juggle and play with skill toys. They have presented workshops at the Pennsylvania Library Association Annual Conference, Connecticut Library Consortium Southeastern Roundtable, State Library of North Carolina SRP Workshops, ACA Tri-State Conference, ACA Southeastern Conference, Northeast YMCA Camp Conference, YMCA Campfire Conference, NC Center for Afterschool Programs Synergy Conference, NC Foster & Adoptive Parent Association Annual Education Conference, and the NC State of the Arts Conference.
