I’m a second-generation Pennsylvania librarian. Both Mom (Rita) and Dad (Jack) worked for many years in PA libraries. The Bethlehem Area Public Library, where I am now Executive Director, was my dad’s library for 34 years and a second home to me.
I’ve taken after him in other ways as well, including my love for baseball and passion for all things Phillies. He will insist that he’s far better looking, but as you can see, I at least have hair.
I’m currently kept very busy with my job, writing books, and raising the next generation of Bethlehem Library directors. It will either be my five year-old daughter or eight year-old son. Both of them love the library, books, and reading, but it is my daughter who really seems to have the knack for administration. She certainly enjoys telling me what to do!
