The Daily PLAnet (pronounced P-L-A-net, never the “Planet”) captured the best spirit of late 20th century American satire, and shone a bright light on library professional development in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The original issues are even now treated with great reverence, and photocopies are still being surreptitiously circulated at library conferences in Uzbekistan. Awarding the Nobel Prize for Literature to Bob Dylan clears out another American contender and brings the editors of the Daily PLAnet one step closer to receiving the recognition they so richly deserve. On October 17, 2016, the final (?) print version of The Daily PLAnet was produced, thus saving trees and destroying jobs around the country. It is online creating electronic pollution and destroying any hopes of properly archiving future issues. But we think the metadata will be awesome! Feel free to post to The Daily PLAnet. Comment on The Daily PLAnet. But keep in mind - your mother might be reading this!

The Daily PLAnet --  25th Anniversary, Silver (Haired) Edition

We’re back back by popular demand. Well, we were approached by one person, endorsed by another, but they are very POPULAR people, HUGE, real winners. So by a rigged 2-0 vote, we are back. Thanks, I guess.

Moving forward, instead of old men staying up late writing paper newsletters while isolated in smoke-filled rooms, we want YOU ALL to be the reporters for the 2016 Daily PLAnet.

Attached to this post is a "paper" version - the last (?) of its kind. We've moved The Daily PLAnet online where you can post your own poetry, prose, audio, photos, videos, the sky’s the limit. We're begging you - please contribute, and for the love of libraries, PLEASE don't take yourself so seriously!
