Compassionate Library Leadership
Presented by Richard Kong
Director of Skokie Public Library in Illinois
What would it look like if more leaders demonstrated compassion?
What would the impact be on an organization and community if compassion,
and concern for the well-being of others, was the primary driver?
Richard Kong will explore these questions and make a case for the
next generation of library leaders to focus on building a culture and value system
founded on compassion, inclusion, and open-mindedness.
This project is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services as
administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Office of
Commonwealth Libraries, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, Governor.
Support is also provided by the College and Research Division of the Pennsylvania Library
