The Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) is the oldest professional library organization serving all types of libraries throughout the Commonwealth. The PaLA Conference provides the library community with a variety of continuing education, supplier resources and networking opportunities during this important event.
With the 2019 conference theme "Shine On" we will shine the light on some of the wonderful things taking place in Pennsylvania libraries and how we can continue to shine in the future. The event will take place at Bayfront Landing located on the shores of Lake Erie's Presque Isle Bay. The center offers not only breathtaking views, but also world-class facilities, amenities and service. We hope you will decide to join us!

If you are a library performer, we have an opportunity for you to showcase your talent, virtually, to an audience of library professionals looking to book programs for their libraries! The Shine On Talent! event will take place Monday evening, October 14 and will feature video snippets of what you do best! More information and registration link.

We are pleased to announce that Kathy Parry, will present, "Rubber Band Resilient" during the Opening Keynote Luncheon, providing the audience with tips on how to stretch, not snap during challenging times .
In addition, "Breakfast with the President" on the closing day, will feature "America's Librarian" Nancy Pearl, who will present, "The Pleasures and Perils of a Life of Reading."
But, that's not all!
Cleveland Public Library's Felton Thomas will be the featured speaker at the Public Library Division Breakfast on Tuesday morning. Thomas will discuss how libraries across our country, and the world, are transforming themselves from traditional spaces of learning to dynamic places of innovation and creativity during his presentation, "Libraries are Community Deficit Fighters!"
The College & Research Luncheon on Tuesday afternoon will include a
presentationby Dr. Michele Villagran, CEO of CulturalCo, LLC who will
present, "Academic Libraries: How Cultural Intelligence Makes a Difference?"
The Library Products & Services Expo offers one of the best opportunities to reach decision-makers in the Pennsylvania library community. This two-day show offers a concise schedule in an environment that promotes interaction with attendees through no-conflict exhibit time, exhibit hall activities and informal networking opportunities.
