About Your Host
The Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) is the oldest professional library organization serving all types of libraries throughout the Commonwealth. Established in 1901, with a membership of nearly 1400, the 501(c)(3) organization provides continuing education opportunities and advocacy efforts for the library community at large.
Held annually, the PaLA Conference attracts nearly 600 library workers and supporters from across the state by providing them with a variety of continuing education, supplier resources and networking opportunities during the four-day event. Approximately 75% of attendees are from public libraries, 20% from academic libraries and the remainder from government, school, medical or corporate libraries.
Past attendee surveys indicate that 93% of conference participants have input on purchases for their library -- of these, 65% are final decision makers.
The 2019 PaLA Conference and "Shine On: Talent" event will take place at the beautiful, state-of-the-art Bayfront Convention Center located on Lake Erie’s Presque Isle Bay.
