About the College & Research Division
The College and Research Division (CRD) of PaLA provides a focus for the academic libraries in the state.
Each year, the CRD provides a spring workshop on a topic or topics relevant to academic libraries. At the annual PaLA Conference, CRD sponsors sessions in the program that focus on academic libraries and a luncheon with an invited guest speaker.
The CRD receives annual Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant money from the state library. This division then reviews grant applications from across the state for a portion of this LSTA grant money to be used in support of professional development and library programs for academic librarians and libraries.
Pennsylvania Libraries: Research & Practice is peer-reviewed by members of the Pennsylvania library community and is freely available online. Articles may be read online at palrap.org. The journal provides an opportunity for librarians in Pennsylvania to share their knowledge and experience with practicing librarians across the Commonwealth and beyond. Pennsylvania Libraries: Research & Practice is published by the University Library System (ULS), University of Pittsburgh, through its E-Journal Publishing Program.
