Who may apply?
The Leadership Academy is specially designed for MLS/MLIS degree librarians who wish to develop their skills and learn to be leaders for their libraries. Librarians of any experience level are encouraged to apply.
What will I learn?
Participants will work closely with each other and with appointed mentors to explore what it means to be a leader and how they can make the choice to be a leader both personally and professionally. They will have the opportunity to network with other librarians and library leaders as well as a chance to participate in group projects that will benefit libraries across the state.
Please note: participation in this workshop requires a one-year commitment to assigned Leadership Academy group project.
How to apply and deadlines?
Those interested in the Leadership Academy should submit a completed application, resume, statement of interest, and letter of recommendation to PALSbyPaLA@gmail.com no later than March 5th in order to be considered for sponsorship by a PaLA Chapter. Those receiving sponsorship elsewhere should submit all application materials as well as a letter of financial responsibility from their sponsoring organization by April 17th.
