1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

$75 for members of the Pennsylvania Library Association.*
$95 for non-members.*

We are excited to share with you a NEW opportunity by PALS!  Leading thru Challenges is a 6-session, all-virtual leadership program.  Led by David Bendekovic, each session will include content centered on Strengths’ Based Leadership (book and assessment code included with registration), keynote addressed from PA library leaders with insights from their own experiences during challenging times, and interactive Q&A time. Sessions will be held live for 6 consecutive Wednesdays from 1pm-2pm beginning July 15. From staff to community needs, rapidly changing environments, budgetary constraints, and burn-out, our content and discussions will be meaningful and provide you with skills and connections to Lead thru Challenges!

The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the need for PA small and rural public libraries to acquire additional computer equipment to facilitate offsite working conditions and improve communication. PALS wants to help provide solutions for you! As a special feature, a limited number of laptops will be provided to eligible library leaders participating in this program.  Selection of eligible recipients will be determined based on need, size of the library budget, and responses to a small number of questions on the registration form.  These laptops become the property of your library at the conclusion of the program.

Who should attend?

*PA public library directors, assistant directors, branch managers, or other top leaders.
*RURAL and small libraries are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this special opportunity!
Yes, even if you have attended a previous PALS workshop (Directors’ Institute or Leadership Academy), you are eligible to register for this NEW workshop!
Academic Head Librarians (or equivalent top leadership titles) will be given opportunities to register after an initial 2 week period focused on rural and small public libraries.
