Three local elected officials (New Holland Mayor Timothy Bender, County Commissioner Ray D'Agostino, and Representative Keith Greiner) were special guests at the event and participated in reading aloud segments of the Constitution.

Description:

Join neighbors, friends, and special guests for a Constitution Day Party! This event will feature a potluck lunch,* a costume contest,** and a dramatic reading of the entire Constitution***. *Please bring a dish to share; but if you don’t want to bring anything, don’t let that stop you from coming! **Wear your favorite historical costume, if you like. One adult and one child will receive a prize for the best costume. ***Students from Garden Spot High School, members the library’s Teen Tuesday Clubs, our special guests, library staff, and adults and children who attend will all be invited to read segments of the Constitution aloud. Build your civic & social literacy by engaging with your local elected officials and members of your community and by learning how the creation of the United States Constitution changed society forever.
