Library Type Public Cost and Funding: $400 for the year. 40 packets were created each month. Description: Spice Club is a monthly grab-and-go culinary exploration program. Each month, Spice Club spotlights a carefully selected spice, providing participants with a sample, an in-depth write-up on its history and culinary applications, interesting facts, and sample recipe cards. Spice Club highlights the rich diversity of global foodways. The spice selection is sourced from various regions, ensuring a comprehensive representation of international flavors. Spices are chosen to align with specific holidays or cultural heritage months, celebrating the distinctive tastes associated with various culinary traditions. Notable examples include annatto seeds for Hispanic Heritage Month in October and shichimi togarashi for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. A monthly cookbook display is also created to complement the featured spice. Spice Club serves as an engaging and educational addition to your programming database, encouraging individuals to elevate their culinary adventures and expand their knowledge of global flavors.
