Description: Our sensory friendly story hour is a six-week program with weekly after-school sessions for children with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration difficulties, or other developmental disabilities. In thiis partnership with the Carrolltown Public Library and the Master of Occupational Therapy Program at Saint Francis University, a professor and college students came to the library to work and play with the children. The librarian read stories and children had time for crafts and free play. We are looking forward to our next program next semester.. It was exciting to see the children learn and become comfortable in the library. It was a win-win-win for the children, the library, and the university students who gained valuable experience.
