The library invites you to to celebrate Holidays Around the World! Families can get Take and Make Kits to learn about and celebrate the many holidays this time of year!
Learn MoreWe will host a program with the Quilt Director from the Kutztown folk Festival who can come and educate patrons about quilt-making, quilts in our area, and appraise any quilts our patrons may want to bring.
Learn MoreThis program integrated financial literacy into a fun crafting event. At the program, a local artist led 20 participants through the process of creating a mini succulent kokedama (plants in a moss ball) that they could give as a gift or keep for themselves. While the cost of supplies was covered by the library and the event offered free of charge, participants received a breakdown of costs and instructions so they could make another budget-friendly gift in the future, as well as a short overview and worksheets on planning and tracking gift spending for the holidays. The event also included food and beverages, and a pop-up library with personal finance, budgeting, and DIY/crafting books, and was promoted mainly by the library’s social media and word of mouth.
Learn MoreThe Virtual Book Club meets once a month and, rather than picking a specific book to discuss, each participant chooses their own book to read based on a theme. During the meeting, everyone will give a brief summary of their book, how it fits the theme, and what they thought about it. The club is a great way to find new books to read while still choosing the types of books each participant enjoys.

Learn MoreCelebrate Citizen Science Month with The Library System of Bradford County. This series is appropriate for all ages and is in collaboration with Bradford County Conservation District and Penn State Extension. Visit your local library between April 1st and April 5th to pick up your supplies (including pot and craft supplies). On the 7th, we decorate plants, now let’s learn about plants on April 14th at 11am, and nutrition on April 21st at 11am. Then pick up your seedling and a surprise from your local library between April 26th and April 30th and check back in to report how your plant is growing.
Learn MoreBuilding off of an idea from Mary Graham, at Abington Community Library, my adult programming librarian created take and make kits for book page flowers in celebration of spring. She used pages from discarded books for the kits and also filmed an instructional video demonstrating how to create the flower.
Learn MoreThis program takes place entirely via video. The original video posts to our social media on Saturday March 6th. Submit your own sea shanty rendition video (family-friendly, please) by March 27th! Miss Gina will create a montage video of the entries, also to be posted on our social media.
Learn MoreThis program was developed as a way to take the library out of the building. At this time, there are two separate entities to our program. One is a virtual walk every Monday morning posted to our Facebook page either by pictures or a video. These programs are either provided by the Adult Services Specialist at the library or by Guest Walkers.
