| Program Description | This year, the Northampton Area Public Library introduced Quiet Creativity Hours in order to expand from our previous Stitch 'n' Chat needlework group. Now artists and crafters of all kinds get together in our space and chat about their latest projects, the mediums which they prefer, or their current frustrations. Help, advice, or solutions may be offered by the group, or the group may simply empathize. It's nice to feel you're not alone when you're creating, and it's always nice to have good conversations. This program was designed on a $0.00 budget in order to accommodate a loss in funding. The only necessities for this program are space and time. Currently, we offer the program twice a month from 6:00-7:30 PM. During this time, individuals bring in the crafts or pieces they are currently working on; they arrive with all the necessary materials to continue their work while listening and chatting along. This is a Social Literacy program that is single-librarian friendly, budget friendly, and offers a gateway to library services for creatives. |
