Library Type Public Cost: $0 Partnership: A Pound-certified Instructor Description: https://calendar.jvbrown.edu/home/event/17109/pound-fitness-with-mandy We are used to being quiet at the library, but we are going to get loud and make noise for a special POUND Fitness class!!! This worldwide activity is happening right here in Williamsport. POUND is a full body cardio jam session inspired by playing the drums. POUND is designed for participants to sweat, sculpt, and rock out their workout. POUND Fitness provides choreographed routines to popular music using weighted drumsticks, known as Ripstix. Participants stand, sit, lunge, and lay down to work various muscle groups. Everything in POUND can be modified. We promote an "any age, any stage" opportunity, but preferably ages 13 and up for this event. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing for working out. Please wear sneakers, or go barefoot if you desire. Bring some water to drink. Please bring a yoga mat if you can. The library will provide some mats for those who don't have one. POUND is lead by group fitness instructor Mandy Bair of Williamsport. Mandy became a POUND Pro in May 2018. She also holds certifications in the children's program, known as Generation POUND, as well as the "Level Up" POUND course offered worldwide. Registration is required. This program is one of the many ways the James V. Brown Library supports the PA Forward initiative by providing health literacy opportunities for learning. |
