Contact Information: Library Type Public Partnership: LA Cameras Site we visit for walk Description: This program was developed as a way to take the library out of the building. At this time, there are two separate entities to our program. One is a virtual walk every Monday morning posted to our Facebook page either by pictures or a video. These programs are either provided by the Adult Services Specialist at the library or by Guest Walkers. The second part of the program is our monthly in-person walk. We schedule our walks for different locations in the area and partner with the location where we are walking. We also have been partnering with LA Cameras (a local shop) who sends a representative out to the walks to provide assistance in taking better pictures and better understanding of the device the participant is using for their pictures. Participants are invited to come for the walk only or come and bring a camera or cell phone and participate in a photo scavenger hunt. When available, we have a representative from our walk location meet us at the beginning of the walk to discuss the history of the location. This is a great program, in that participants of all ages can come together for fun, exercise, and learning. This is a program that is easily adaptable to any location and any library size. It is low or now cost. We have included the flyer for our March walk which will be a walk with a local legend theme. Tags: Adults Civic & Social Health Teens |
